One of my favorite things to write about is fashion shows. I love everything about fashion shows to be honest. I know what you’re thinking, “coming from someone who’s never even been to a real fashion show” yes you’re correct, but I don’t feel I have to physically be there to give my input on a collection. In today’s world one can simply pull out their phone and type two words and immediately be inside a New York fashion show.
Anyways, this season, the designers put out some extremely eclectic collections that really switched things up. We saw many new silhouettes, shapes, colors, and pattern plays etc. My personal favorite was mr Prabal Gurung’s S/S collection. Prabal is most definitely one of the most beloved shows of NYFW because of his never ending sense of wonder and innovation. His designs are constantly sleek and sophisticated but with a little hint of feminity and power. With his collection prior being one of the most talked about of the season, the fashion world was genuinely dreaming of what he’d come up with next. The slogan tees of his February show truly shook up the fashion world for the better. This season Gurung took shapes to a whole new level with things like corset/blazer hybrids and even corset/topcoat hybrids that are truly a sight to see. Once again we see a hint of menswear inspired pieces and I’m obsessed. Not only were his shapes expertly executed, but the colors and prints he presented were sublime. Also can we talk about those sunglasses!! I need them in every color asap! Dainty sunglasses are still having a moment and honestly I don’t ever want to see the trend disappear! It’s such an easy and modern way to elevate an outfit.
Also, Gurung’s casting has been spot on as of recently. The otherworldly beauties Ashley Graham and Candice Huffine were among the many diversely elegant girls to walk the show. The fashion world will forever be indebted to Gurung for his never ending sense of optimism and diversity. He’s a spokesperson for feminism and female empowerment all around! And what better way to end an already exceptional show than with the incomparable Gigi Hadid in quite possibly the most show stopping red dress of this NYFW season! The shape and silly outside were practically created for Hadid herself! She brought new life to the 💃 dancing girl and I’m all for it! Bravo Prabal I absolutely adored the collection!
I recently started my classes at the community college in my town, and let me just say it’s no joke. While they’re just community college courses, they still contain a decent level of rigor. It’s a totally different and new environment compared to public school and it’s taking me a minute to adjust fully. I’m really enjoying the courses themselves so far so that’s a plus!
Don’t think for a second that just because I’m in college I’ll stop dressing extra everyday, because it’s not gonna happen (except for my 8am class, it’s just impossible to look decent that early anymore). All of my outfits were last minute decisions but I think they all came out A1. Have a great week and stay fab!
I’ve been playing around with different palettes and silhouettes lately, and it’s starting to become a fav of mine. I love wearing a different color everyday because it adds some fun to getting ready! On this day I was clearly feeling the color blue. I love all the different shades of blue and how they all somehow pair together well. This button up is one of my personal holy grail thrift finds. It’s a vintage J. Crew blue and white pinstripe top and I’m head over heels in love. It’s so soft and has the great oversized fit that I looove in button ups. I love to add sexy little twists to my looks, whether it’s as simple as only buttoning one button or a full on crop top! I’m not scared of showing skin nor will I ever be, so get used to it people. (Also it was 100 fucking degrees) Have a great week and stay fab!
I saw it one random day, on an instagram post by @troprouge. It was something I’d never seen before, a button up that you didn’t button at all! You simply wrap it and tuck it all in! I couldn’t believe how simple and easy it was to make a button up feel fresh and modern! It took me a minute to actually apply it in my outfits, but one day I was trying o figure out how to make a button up look unique yet modern. And suddenly it dawned on me that this was the answer to all my problems! I chose this striped button up to give it my personal flare. And there I go again with the white accessories! I’m not sorry I love them!! So enjoy and have a great week! Stay fab!

California HERE I COME!! In just two days I will be taking my senior trip to California and I couldn’t be more giddy! It’s been almost 4 years since I was last there!! Not only is it my family’s home state, but it’s where all of my moms side of the family still resides and I’m ECSTATIC that I get to see them all again.
I actually just finished getting all of my outfits together (which I will be sharing regularly so keep your eyes open) and let me just say, it’s gonna be a denim extravaganza! I packed so many pairs of Levis shorts, that I honestly don’t know how my suitcase closed. I’ve been on the prowl hardcore for the past couple weeks for some killer denim shorts and I finally accumulated the collection I envisioned! In case you give a shit, I packed 6 pairs of Levis shorts and 4 white tees (not sorry). Not only did I round up shorts, but I rounded up an assortment of pics ( see below) that I’m getting a lot of inspiration from currently. My mind is filled with pics I’ll take, places I’ll visit, and the food I’ll eat etc. so if you know me don’t expect me to stop talking about any of that until I return. So I will be going to Disneyland, Knottsberry Farm, Los Angeles (super pumped about that) and ending in our hometown of San Diego. If anyone has any insanely dope recommendations for any of the places I’m going (whether it be food, clothes, beaches, rides) pleaselet me know in the comments! Have a great week and stay fab!
“the crowd erupts in applause, but we can’t hear them”
Lemonade. Or the piece of art that changed my life immensely. I will never ever forget the day of its release, I was anxious, impatient, and riveted. The amount of excitement I had was too much to handle and I didn’t know how to verbalize any of it. From the second I saw her in the field wearing a hoodie/gown hybrid, I knew I was in for a life changing experience. At the time of its release I was about to finish my junior year in high school and I was stressed and timid, and somehow it made everything seem ok. The music pulled me in and shook up my understanding of love, forgiveness, racism, empowerment, and heartbreak. To see a woman so powerful and successful, take an uncomfortable and relevant subject like cheating and channel it into art was so astounding. Getting to see, hear and every feel a deeper level of Beyonce’s life was so humbling and I’m forever grateful to her for letting me experience it. While the ultimate break up songs like “Sorry” and “Don’t hurt yourself” we’re an amazing addition to the cheating theme, but if you look too closely into Jay’s possible infidelity, you’ll lose the true meaning of the album. The album was about forgiving someone for ruining you and to stand up for your rights and to be proud of who you are and where you’re from. I will be forever grateful to Beyonce and for her vision and execution of the greatest album of all time.
Now that you know how much Lemonade means to me, I’ll give you the fashion and fun part of this post. Last night I celebrated….wait for it……….MY GRADUATION!!!!!! Yes that’s right, you’re reading a high school graduate’s blog right now! I’m so excited that I’m done with high school forever and can’t wait to start my life! So about that party, it was such an amazing time and I wish I could do it everyday! All my closest friends and family were present and I was surrounded by so much love and I’m so grateful for the people that showed up and slayed! Being me, I asked all my guests to “serve a look” because I’m very into people throwing caution to the wind and pulling out all the stops for an outfit! I ordered this jumpsuit from ASOS after having fallen in love with it weeks before! It’s one of the most comfortable things I’ve ever worn and I don’t regret wearing it for a second! Obviously the party was Lemonade themed (argo the prologue) and I’m so happy with how everything turned out! Thank you to everyone for coming and serving and for being so loving and supportive!!!! Catch the looks below 😉 and have a great week!
