Back to Black.

Not only is the Beyonce & Andre 300 version of this song my current fav, but that phrase is very relevant to my current fashion mood. I’ve been finding myself gravitating towards the darker clothes in my wardrobe. It’s probably not the smartest idea considering it’s almost summer, but I’m rolling with it! I’m head over heels for these Levis I got from a yard sale. I love mixing different textures and shades like faded black with velvet. Have a great week and stay fab!

Spring Denims

This spring I’m jumping head first into a season of denim. It’s currently the biggest part of my wardrobe & the way I put together looks. The key to any killer look is to begin with a base, and for me my base is always denim. Basically I select one pair from my collection and decide the rest of my outfit based on those jeans. It helps me to organize my thoughts and speed up the process a bit. Don’t get me wrong, I’m fully aware that eventually my jeans will have no place being worn due to the excessive heat and dryness where I live. But, nothing, and I mean nothing stops me from slipping into a good pair of jeans. Also I’m dying over the oval shades trend, you guys know I’m not much of a sunglasses person, but I couldn’t resist these bad boys! Have a great week and stay fab!

Super Oversized Green.

Recently I went to Durango, CO for some lunch and downtime with my family, and I figured it was a good time to pull this ginormous button up I purchased from a thrift store awhile back. I’ve been extremely hesitant to wear it out because of how large it is and how it basically swallows me. Nevertheless, I love the color and I knew it would add an edgier element to my already simple outfit. Adding oversized pieces to any outfit can be tricky because it can seem a little out there for some people. But my biggest piece of advice when wearing oversized pieces, is to just let go and completely disregard any thought of what someone might say or think about it. Have a great weekend and stay fab!!

Velour Factor.

Unsurprisingly, one of the biggest trends to hit the scene this past year is everything and anything velvet. It’s taken the entire world by storm and become a fashion phenomenon. After a long time of waching from the sidelines, I finally hopped on the train and got a velvet piece. This blazer was actually purchased from a Salvation Army thrift store in my town, and I’ve been infatuated since. It’s a little small on my arms so I suspect it won’t last long in my wardrobe, but for the time being it’ll be my ultimate staple piece. While I’m usually not one to mix formal and casual pieces quite like these, I figured it’d be a good experiment. And in the end, I’m in love. Had a great week and stay fab!

Why Everyone Should Hop on the Thrifting train

For the past year I’ve been absolutely infatuated with all things thrifted. What started out as me just browsing while I happened to be in a thrift store, turned into an all out love affair. I find that thrifting clothes can be almost therapeutic at times because you’re browsing through clothes that have a story and a past. You’re not just buying a piece of clothing, you’re adding to its story.

To those who’ve never thrifted or are too afraid to try it, I urge you to either suck it up or get off your damn high horse because there’s nothing mediocre about thrifting. Sometimes I’ll come across a piece and envision myself or my best friend wearing it and it completely changes whatever mood I’m in. Another tip for those starting out, bring a friend! Sometimes thrift stores can be a little run down and sketchy but that only makes the experience better. But if you insist, bringing a friend is always a good idea because I know from experience that when my best friend and I are thrifting together, there’s an endless amount of surprises in store. One last tip would be to be open minded as hell! You can’t be picky with thrifted clothes, after all they are secondhand clothes, but just be patient and give the piece a try before you toss it. Do not ever second guess a piece on a stain or a rip because you may just be missing out on the piece of a lifetime. I hope these tips will encourage someone to take on the amazing activity that is thrifting! Enjoy some of my favorite thrifted pieces and finds below and stay fab!

I thrifted these metallic docs in Durango a few months back and I’m so so happy that I did because they’re the perfect statement shoe.

These Levis 560’s were actually purchased at a yard sale, but they’re still one of my most prized finds.

Quite possibly my favorite find ever is my perfect condition Levis 501’s in one size higher than mine, but I mean come on, they’re 501’s.

Both the crewneck and my jeans were life changing finds. The jeans fit me absolutely perfectly and the crewneck is soft, chic, and it’s Champion so how could I have said no?

This crewneck is my lifeline currently. I cropped it to give it a modern edge and to obviously stir up some conversation between the conservatives in my town.

This zip up sweater (which was $1) has been such a lifesaver on days when I’m wearing something I deem to simple. I’ll grab it and it’ll completely transform my entire look.

This vintage Yves Saint Laurent button up was actually my first thrifted find and holds a special place in my heart because of that. It’s one of the softest things I’ve ever put on my body and it was $2 YSL, only a fool would pass that up.

This graphic tee has completely changed my outlook on fashion. I bought it because it was $1 and because it reminded me of something my fashion icon Bella Hadid would wear, so I had to!

Catching Up

You should know by now that the end of the year is most likely the worst time for me and blogging. It’s always the most hectic and stressful hands down. So I truly apologize for being the absolute worst at staying on top of blogging. But nevertheless come winter break, I’ll be back to my old shenanigans 🙂 So here’s a quick iPhone shoot of a favorite outfit of mine currently. I got these jeans from a yard sale and I can honestly say it was my best $2 spent to date. Also the military style of this jacket is everything to me right now! Have a great week and stay fab!

Saturday Editorial: Levi’s Addict Anonymous

If it’s not already clear to everybody, I’m actually infatuated with Levis.

Somewhere along the way, I grew a serious attachment to Levis denim. What started out as a simple admiration of the jeans on people I love like Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Chiara Ferragni, or the Olsens, turned into an all out to die for love affair. Something about the fit, the washes, the cuts, and the variety makes me so obsessed. Personally, I like to get mine thrifted or vintage, but there are so many endless options these days. People like Urban Outfitters, RE/DONE, Vetements, or OFF-WHITE are all doing their own takes on Levis, and I’m loving all of it! Take a look at some of my personal faves! Have a great weekend and stay fab!
